In 2013 whilst studying geography at Kings College London, co founder Oliver Slacke developed an interest in sustainable practices after being introduced to the world of alternative resources and how they could be used to make clothing.

After finishing his degree Oliver's interest grew and at just 24, he teamed up with his 21 year old brother James with an aim of producing the best quality, longest lasting most sustainable accessories possible.

The story behind Swole Panda

The brothers wanted to create a brand that would combine style with sustainability, minimising the impact on the planet. They had a strong vision of what they wanted to achieve, hence the name - 'Swole' meaning strong in the urban dictionary - and 'Panda' emphasising that the products incorporate bamboo in some way.

In the spring of 2021, Swole Panda moved to Filmwell Park, a new 46 acre development of self sufficient offices situated in the beautiful High Weald on the Kent/East Sussex border.

Designed with conservation in mind, the eco friendly timber construction is sympathetic to its woodland surroundings, enhancing rather than detracting from the designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A vast solar panel installation generates 100% of the office's power, which has been awarded the highest energy performance rating.

    Why I Love Swole Panda

We started selling bamboo socks about 10 years ago when they were new to the market. Since then bamboo sock brands have popped up all over the place so it's quite a challenge to hunt out the best ones. We've been selling Swole Panda in our shop for a few years, and I know what great quality they are, so they were the obvious choice to add to our range for the website too. Perfect for a splash of tasteful colour!
