FAQs about Laundry
Big plastic bottles of detergent, such as Persil, have been the household staple for the last few decades. But they are heavy in chemicals such as artificial scents and result in dozens of plastic bottles to waste every year. Alternatives that are natural and effective include:
Laundry Sheets from Simple Living Eco
The refillable Eco Egg and
Soapnuts - organic tree fruits grown in India that contain real natural 'soap' and can be used directly in your washing machine.
Wash clothes less often
Use the 'Eco' setting if your machine has one
Wash cold - 30 degrees C is plenty
Use an eco detergent without harsh chemicals
Ditch fabric softener
Have fuller loads
Air Dry
Consider a microfibre collecting bag
Choose natural materials
Clothing, bedding, and other textiles shed microplastics in fibre form and are major contributors to global plastic pollution. These microfibres, which are stripped and carried off by friction and turbulence in the washing machine, enter our wastewater, eventually ending up in the environment.
To reduce this pollution, choose natural materials and also follow the same guidelines as above:
Wash clothes less often
Use the 'Eco' setting if your machine has one
Wash cold - 30 degrees C is plenty
Use an eco detergent without harsh chemicals
Ditch fabric softener
Have fuller loads
Air Dry
Consider a microfibre collecting bag
I purchased these laundry sheets as I do not now use washing powder. I also have a septic tank, which I am very conscientious about. I have looked at other sheets which require transport, but as these claim to be made in the UK I am all for cutting down the carbon footprint.
Good range of handmade soaps available at good prices, order +ame quickly and well packaged. Thank you
I found Greentulip whilst searching online. I ordered a beautiful baby grow, some wooden Teethers & a little comfort bunny. They all arrived beautifully wrapped in tissue paper& they arrived quickly too! I would definitely recommend them for extra special baby gifts.
I like these pads because they have survived the washing machine and they are soft but with just enough “grip” to clean well.
