ARK COLOUR DESIGN
Founders Jane Richards and Amy Lindsay started Ark Colour Design in 2015 creating fun and colourful cards and gifts that are both affordable and well made. Drawing from backgrounds in fashion and fine art, the duo find many different things that inspire their products - it could be a child's drawing, a poster seen in the street or even simply scribbles on paper!
Jane & Amy developed their own unique and quirky twist for Ark, letting their imaginations run wild to make sure every individual product stood out with humour, good fun, metallic foils and, above all, colour!
Ark's purses, bags and key fobs are made from high quality leather sourced from the UK and Ireland. The leather is processed and dyed by a small, family-run business at its on-site tannery based just outside Glasgow. It's then cut and finished to Ark's designs by hand using a heat press to add additional colours and shiny foil highlights. The girls have built up a great relationship with Paul, who must often have a good chuckle to himself at the fun designs!
During April 2021 Ark moved from it's small premises in Cambridge to a 200 year old renovated barn based in a little rural village called Waterbeach, just north of Cambridge. Having more space, Ark had the room to house its very own cutting press enabling the all-female team to cut their very own leather and paper, something they were extremely excited about!
With colour and fun being the backbone of Ark, you will often see the team on a Wednesday dressing up in their favourite shade of the week - here's Green Week to celebrate its plastic free ethos - we love the expression on Dudley the dog's face!
Love the placemats. They look gorgeous and do the job well. However the drinks coasters vary in size slightly and curl up at the edges. They are also not completely flat in the middle which means that putting a glass of wine on them is a bit problematic! Ok if you want to use them for heavier glasses/mugs etc
I ordered a couple of placemats for my table in the balcony. They arrived quickly and very well packed, and product itself is great quality.
This is my second purchase of the Paris ian perfume by Ampersand. Such a lovely summer scent, yo be recommended.
