This delightful collaboration with Workshop Coffee brings out the best of two fantastic beans - each sourced with flavour and traceability in mind.
Workshop's coffee beans are from Hunkute washing station in Sidama, Ethiopia. Working organically, Hunkute grow Sedancho as well as Native Typica Hybrid varieties. This is Workshop Coffee's 8th year roasting coffee from Hunkute washing station.
The cocoa beans are from Kerta Semaya Samaniya Cooperative, Jembrana, West Bali - a progressive network of small farms that is built on the pillars of responsible agricultural practices and gender equality. Their outstanding cacao is delightfully rich, with notes of brown sugar, prune and hazelnut.
One of the key focuses of KSSs strategy is to provide a steady income for the women of the area. Historically, women were often limited to helpers despite doing most of the work on the farm. The introduction of female-led trainings on good agricultural practices and post-harvesting processing has helped increase their self confidence as well the ability to train other female farmers across the farmer groups. Further, women can now join the cooperative, which allows them to sell their cacao directly to KSS and therefore gain full transparency of the income generated.
Pump Street Chocolate is clear about the importance of supporting the cocoa farmers it works with. By sourcing the best beans grown with minimal intervention, and through a transparent, ethical, and sustainable supply chain and direct trade, it is able to pay prices far greater than fair trade direct to its growers. Farmers are able to take home a fair wage and give the same to their team members, and to maintain their land and trees in environmentally responsible ways.
Handmade in Orford, Suffolk by a family-run company made up of bakers and chocolate makers. Everything it produces is a reflection of the finest produce, farming and agriculture that surround the brand's location on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Presented in a beautiful, resealable pouch that is fully compostable.

Ingredients: Cocoa nibs, cocoa butter, cane sugar, Workshop Coffee Hunkute coffee beans (4%). Produced in an environment that handles milk, cereals containing gluten, eggs, nuts and sesame seeds.
