Felt Glasses Case

Produced by Pantar, an atelier in Amsterdam. Pantar is part of a sheltered workplace that provides training and guidance to people who have difficulty in being integrated or reintegrated into the labour market. Pantar offers a safe base that feels for many of the people like home, and enables skills and talents to blossom. Comes with recyclable card tag explaining the unique nature of the product.

The high quality wool felt used to make the glasses cases is from the Dutch weaving mill De Ploeg, established in 1923 as a cooperative producing household textiles. Since the 1920’s De Ploeg has been renowned as supplier of curtain and upholstery fabrics and by the ‘50s, it had become a household name in The Netherlands.

In 2013 De Ploeg and koda amsterdam presented a collection of home and fashion accessories at Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, made of the cut waste of upholstery fabrics. This event marked the start of an intense collaboration resulting in many products that reflect the shared values of timeless design and true craftsmanship.
