Tick Tock Rooibos Tea - 40 Bags

Add freshly boiled water and brew for 2-4 minutes. When brewed for longer, this red tea is full-bodied and rich, giving off a warm woody aroma. It can be sweetened with honey or sugar if desired, and is delicious with or without milk.

Because rooibos comes from a different plant to traditional green and black teas, it has lower levels of tannins. It is these tannins which can give 'normal' tea a bitter taste, particularly if you brew a black tea or green tea for too long (plus it stains your mug - and your teeth!). By contrast, rooibos (meaning ‘red bush’) tea will never go bitter. Even if you were to leave your teabag in the cup it will remain sweetly smooth.

Rooibos grows in the ruggedly beautiful Cederberg coastal mountains of South Africa, a protected World Heritage site around 200km north of Cape Town. It flourishes in this area because of the unique combination of climate and the specific PH balance of the region’s well-drained, sandy soil - all attempts to grow rooibos beyond the magnificent Cederberg have failed.

Whilst Tick Tock teas are not yet certified by the Fairtrade Foundation, it does buy directly from farmers and trade fairly. The brand has built longstanding relationships with its suppliers, which allow it to find the most sustainable and fairly traded harvests year after year.

Packed in the UK. To keep as fresh as possible, the bags are wrapped in a foil pouch which is recyclable along with plastic bags at larger supermarkets. Presented in a recyclable paperboard box. The tea bags are free from polypropylene plastic and fully biodegradable so can be popped in your food waste bin for composting by your local authority.
