THE PRINTED PEANUT
Founder and freelance illustrator Louise Lockhart started The Printed Peanut back in 2012 as a way of applying her drawings to quality products - bringing colourful illustrations into peoples homes! Her fun, cheerful designs are dreamt-up in worlds where animals wear hats, the flowers are neon pink and there are ice cream shops everywhere you look!
The idea for the business came after Louise graduated from Glasgow School of Art, spent a few years travelling and got a job working in a beautiful stationery shop in Vancouver, Canada. This inspired her to start her own line of illustrated products, so she set up a basic screen printing operation in the bathroom of her tiny apartment printing sheets of patterned paper and cards. Realising there was a gap on the market for quality party games, she began making her version of Pass the Parcel (fuelled on peanut butter!) and so The Printed Peanut was born.
Louise's product range rapidly grew from paper based cards and stationery to homeware like tea towels and ceramics. When her good friend started a local soap making business, she jumped at the chance to package it in her own designs. The soap was a massive success, being stocked in shops and galleries all over the world.
Based in the hills of Yorkshire, Louise works from home in a beautiful converted cotton mill that she and her husband spent four years renovating. As well as single-handedly running her businesses, Louise still works on children's books such as baby board books for Nosy Crow and in the past the Harry Potter series for Bloomsbury.
Love the placemats. They look gorgeous and do the job well. However the drinks coasters vary in size slightly and curl up at the edges. They are also not completely flat in the middle which means that putting a glass of wine on them is a bit problematic! Ok if you want to use them for heavier glasses/mugs etc
I ordered a couple of placemats for my table in the balcony. They arrived quickly and very well packed, and product itself is great quality.
This is my second purchase of the Paris ian perfume by Ampersand. Such a lovely summer scent, yo be recommended.
