The idea for Truthbrush came in 2017 when two friends from Devon, Catherine and Catherine, were given a plastic toothbrush at a hotel - it was flimsy; made to be used once or twice and disposed of. This got the girls thinking - the brush would only last a few weeks before being thrown away to join the mountain of plastic pollution out there - so, just like that, they decided to come up with a better solution.

The story behind Truthbrush

ESTABLISHED IN 2018

With their combined expertise as a hospital doctor and a fashion buyer, the two friends set about designing a toothbrush that was not only healthy and practical to use but looked great in the home too.

By the following year the girls had launched a collection of sustainable bamboo toothbrushes with plant-based bristles and smooth bamboo handles that are lovely to hold, beautiful to look at and completely plastic-free!

GIVING SOMETHING BACK

Today Truthbrush boasts an all-female team located in Devon on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The women love being part of the change towards a better way of living that’s gentler on our planet. The Brand has become a proud member of 1% for the Planet and works continuously with Tree-Nation to plant a tree for every wholesale order received.

All the girls' eco-conscious work paid off by the end of 2021, when Truthbrush became the first UK oral care company to receive B-Corp accreditation. It's recognition of what they have worked so hard to achieve – using business as a force for good.

    Why I Love Truthbrush

    Truthbrush say they produce the most beautiful bamboo toothbrush... and I have to say I agree! The shape of their brushes and the colours they use are really elegant, and why wouldn't you want an elegant version of such an everyday item if you could! I also love the fact that Cat & Catherine were one of the first brands to produce bamboo toothbrushes - setting the standard for the many brands that have followed.
