CHOCOCO
Husband and wife team Andy & Claire Burnet started Chococo in December 2002 making fresh handmade chocolate from locally sourced seasonal ingredients. The couple left their corporate marketing and finance jobs in London after their daughter was born and moved to Swanage in Dorset to be near Andy's family and to pursue a new business venture. A huge change of direction for them both, born from Claire's love of fine quality chocolate and passion for flavour.
The couple started off in a little backstreet unit in Swanage, that was previously a 1960s hairdressers. They turned the ground floor into a tiny chocolate kitchen with a viewing window so that customers could watch them in action making all their delicious chocolates by hand - which meant the shop had to go upstairs! They were determined to make all the chocolates themselves to show customers that they were real people, making real chocolates in a real place. That determination to "keep it real" is still the same today.
Continuous growth over the years meant they acquired more units in the alley for a packing room and a bigger kitchen, which enabled them to move the shop downstairs during 2005. From there they opened a small chocolate cafe next door to the shop in 2009 - but still with not enough space, they moved the production side the following year to a larger unit in Wareham, 10 miles up the road from Swanage. 2011 saw the publishing of the Chococo Chocolate Cook Book and in 2013 the opening of the Winchester Chocolate House; followed by the Exeter Chocolate House in 2016. If that wasn't enough, the Swanage cafe expanded into the unit next door in early 2018, and then immediately afterward in April opened in Horsham too! Not least, 2019 saw the launch of Chococo's award winning Gelato!
We think that's a pretty impressive journey!

Green Tulip is a gem! An online ethical store, with a wide variety of goods for the home and family. I purchased some silicone storage bags (which are great by the way). Very competitive prices too. Delivery was fast, items were thoughtfully packaged. I will definitely use them again.

I bought these for my children's packed lunches and haven't used them yet (apart from the small tins) but I'm very pleased with them - they're a clever design: compact yet have enough room.
