BANKS-LYON BOTANICAL
From a family heritage in retail that spans over four generations, founder Gorgina Banks-Lyon's inspiration to run her own business came from her great, great grandfather, who opened a high quality leather store on Church Street, Lancaster in 1887. With a reputation for customer service and family values, it is still run by her father today.
Growing up with very sensitive skin, Georgina struggled to find high street products that didn’t contain chemicals or preservatives that also offered the spa-like pamper she was looking for. Following a few experiments and many hours around the kitchen table with her husband Simon, Banks-Lyon Botanical was born.
After selling their first soap loaves to friends and family, the couple soon out-grew the kitchen table (and the spare room), and moved to offices in Ramsbottom, in the heart of beautiful countryside north of Manchester.
Today, even though the business has gone from strength to strength Georgina & Simon still make everything themselves by hand. They also strive for a healthy work-life balance, and make time to take a few days out during school holidays to visit the Lake District and spend quality time with their two boys, Atticus and Rufus. Soon after becoming a new mum, Georgina still worked tirelessly and even formulated a collection of beautiful baby products that make great gifts for newborns and baby showers.
We're absolutely addicted to the gorgeous smell of the Brand's uniquely named little bath bars and can't wait to see what lovely blends they come up with next!
