Panettone 70% Dark Chocolate Bar

This delicious chocolate bar is made with cocoa beans from Crayfish Bay Organic Estate, Saint Mark, Grenada. Crayfish Bay faces west overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The land, 13 acres of which is under cocoa, has five natural springs and is steep so has natural drainage. The soil is acidic and has high organic content due to the constant defoliage of the cocoa.

The farm is run by Kim and Lylette Russell as a cooperative: all the workers have rights to harvest other crops on the land and determine how 90% of the profits from the cacao are used. The farmers plant nutmeg and bananas out of cocoa picking season, which gives them an income all year round.

By sourcing the best beans grown with minimal intervention, and through a transparent, ethical, and sustainable supply chain and direct trade, it is able to pay prices far greater than fair trade direct to its growers. Farmers are able to take home a fair wage and give the same to their team members, and to maintain their land and trees in environmentally responsible ways.

Handmade in Orford, Suffolk by a family-run company made up of bakers and chocolate makers. Everything it produces is a reflection of the finest produce, farming and agriculture that surround the brand's location on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Traditionally packaged in aluminium foil and a beautiful, seasonally illustrated paper wrapper. Please separate the foil from the paper before recycling.
