Drinking water from the tap using a reusable bottle is the most eco-friendly way to drink water and what better to drink it in than this beautiful bottle which has been especially designed for drinking water. The Retap bottle has a lovely curved shape that means it is very comfortable to hold, and has also been designed without any edges where bacteria can grow or accumulate so cleaning is easy and safe.
All Retap bottles are produced from borosilicate glass which is stronger, more heat resistant, and more eco-friendly than regular glass. Glass is perfect for reuse as it cannot contaminate your water, unlike plastic which can release hormone-like chemicals that influence our hormone balance. The lid is made from a very tactile BPA free plastic/rubber blend which is removed using a 'twist and pull' action. When replacing the lid make sure you push it down until you hear the click - meaning the lid is on tightly and shouldn't leak.
The 08 bottle is pretty big but you can still drink from it comfortably - perfect for those thirsty days! It is the thinnest of the bottles and is very elegant so we think works really well as a carafe at home. It cuts a fine figure on the table and we know from experience that no bottle pours better. Uses the same lid as the 03 and 05 bottles so you can mix and match lids across the range of bottles. Additional lids available. This one comes with a pink lid.
Designed in Denmark and bottle and lid both made in Europe.
The bottle is suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher, but we would recommend hand washing the lid as dishwashing may cause it to stretch slightly.
23cm high. 9cm max diameter - 800ml.
Please note: Retap does not recommend these bottles for children.
The biggest environmental impact of bottled water comes from transporting water all over the world. This also disturbs the natural cycle of water. Clean water runs directly from the tap, so refilling a Retap bottle is an easy step to support the environment. Once the bottle reaches its user, it can be cleaned and refilled with tap water endlessly. This makes sure that there is no useless shipping of water.
Retap was initially influenced by reading about plastic islands in the oceans consisting mainly of plastic bottles. With the UN climate meeting 2009 in Copenhagen (COP 15) closing in, the founders became more aware of the negative impact of bottled water on the environment. They felt that something had to be done, so set their minds on designing a bottle that is especially designed for drinking tap water. A year and many designs later in the summer of 2010, they released the Retap bottle, and we’re very proud of this eco-friendly and beautiful product.
