Tamra jal is an ancient Ayurvedic practice of drinking from a copper vessel - a practice that has proven health benefits and is widely recommended by Yogis and Ayurveda experts. Before water filters, people used copper for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. Tamra jal balances all three doshas in our bodies (vata, kapha and pitta) and is typically consumed by Yogis first thing in the morning as part of their daily meditation practice. It also has a host of health benefits including boosting immunity, conducting spiritual energy, and reducing inflammation in the body. For best results fill the bottle in the evening, and then store in fridge overnight.
Forrest & Love products are designed in Munich and hand crafted by a small family run team of artisans in India from high-grade, food safe TUV certified copper. Comes with swing tag and packaged plastic free in a plain, recyclable card box.
Copper is a soft metal but will, if well handled, last a lifetime and can be passed to the next generation. With usage, the lip and inner surface of the bottle will turn darker due to oxidation, but this will not impair the water quality. The bottle can be cleaned with lemon and salt, vinegar and salt or baking powder.
PLEASE NOTE: Copper bottles are suitable for still water only. They are not suitable for carbonated drinks, fruit juices or squash.
Approximately 27cm high x 7cm diameter. Due to the hand made nature of this product, the overall dimensions may vary slightly from bottle to bottle.
The biggest environmental impact of the daily purchasing of bottled water is the huge amount of plastic waste created. Clean water runs directly from our taps, so the purchase a reusable bottle to fill at home and carry with you is an easy, clean living life change to make. The UK is also installing more drinking water stations in and around our cities for a free re-fill whilst out and about.
Copper has strong health benefits with studies showing it is anti-bacterial, acts as an effective anti-oxidant, improves immunity, supports good health, prevents ageing, eliminates toxins and free radicals, and stimulates the brain.
Yogis have been drinking copper water since ancient times. In line with Ayurvedic principles, water stored in copper bottles balances the three doshas in our body (vata, kapha and pitta) by gently infusing the water with positive health properties of copper. The stored water will also turn into natural alkaline water, which helps balance our body’s pH levels.
Water stored in a copper vessel for at least four hours acquires a certain quality from the copper which is very good for the body's liver in particular and health and energy in general.
