This handy rectangle bamboo tray is the perfect size for serving canapés and snacks or (more importantly) for carrying two cups of tea upstairs in the morning (with ample room for biscuits!).
Features include a clean vertical edge and a routed base for easy stacking. Produced using sustainably harvested bamboo by individual farmers in the rural hills of China. The tray is hand shaped and finished with food safe natural oils. Any glue used is a water based, food grade adhesive from Europe that contains no formaldehydes.
Responsibly made in China where there are safe working conditions and fair labour practices. Producer Bambu is also B Corp certified which means the company’s business model and entire operations are evaluated to see how they impact their workers, community and environment. In short, B Corporation is to business what Fairtrade certification is to food.
Hand wash in warm soapy water. Avoid soaking. Not recommended for microwave.
Approximately 25.5cm long x 15.4cm wide.
Miracle plant bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, and is an endlessly renewable resource - growing new shoots from its root system after being harvested. It thrives naturally without using any pesticides or fertilisers, takes in greenhouse gasses and produces 35% more oxygen than the equivalent trees.
To keep the bamboo as natural as possible, only water-based formaldehyde-free adhesives are used where necessary. All products are hand sanded and finished using a food-safe oil produced from vegetable oils and waxes.
Bambu is an eco friendly home goods company, designing, producing and marketing homewares made from renewable materials.
Founders Jeff and Rachel built their business around a mission to reduce plastic waste by providing people with natural alternatives. The couple come from Portland in Oregon, US - a place that prides itself on local, home grown, eco-friendly values. They relocated to China and took these values with them. Because they live and work in Shanghai most of the year, Jeff and Rachel can work directly with their teams on the ground in China - local woodworkers, weavers and stitchers - to hand craft every item.
Bambu has recently achieved B Corp Certification. This is the only certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance. The B Impact Assessment evaluates how a company’s operations and business model impact their workers, community, environment, and customers. From the supply chain and input materials to the charitable giving and employee benefits, B Corp Certification proves a business is meeting the highest standards of verified performance.
