Our chunky recycled glasses are handmade in a family run workshop in Mexico - the country that also inspires the wonderful colours they come in. Each glass is shaped by hand and eye using techniques that date back a thousand years - and the fact that each one is a slightly different size and shape is part of their enduring charm.

These wine glasses will work perfectly for every occasion - from a smart dinner party to that 6pm glass of wine at the end of the day. The only problem is they take rather a lot of wine so you might get through the bottle a bit quicker than you used to…!  Look great with our chunky tumblers too.

We send the glasses wrapped in the Mexican newspaper they come in - a fun way of getting across the fact that they are made in Mexico!

Handmade glass can never be 'dishwasher proof' however it is usually pretty resistant to being put through a dishwasher. Dishwashers also tend, eventually, to dull the glass.

19.5cm tall  x 8.5cm diameter

Please note our current stock of wine glasses have clear bottoms.

Sold singly.

RECYCLED

This recycled glassware is made in a family-run workshop using Pepsi bottles and other discarded glass. The glass is melted down and then mouth blown, and the colour is added during this process.  Each piece is shaped by hand and eye using techniques that date back thousands of years. The trace of the maker is captured as the glass solidifies – small ripples and optical distortions are an integral part of the glassware. It is not for those who favour the symmetry of the production line.

It is a myth that recycling glass uses more energy than it saves. Recycling two glass bottles saves the equivalent energy of boiling 5 cups of water - which seems a small saving until you take into account that 2.4 tonnes of glass end up in landfill per year.

Milagros offer a colourful range of recycled Mexican tumblers & wine glasses which are hand-blown in a family-run workshop using Pepsi bottles and other discarded glass. The trace of the maker is captured as the glass solidifies – small ripples and optical distortions are an integral part of the glassware & gives it its enduring charm.
