These handy little strips of leftover beeswax wraps work really well as an eco fire lighter and make a great natural and plastic free alternative to the paraffin based blocks that are commonly used. Being lightweight, water resistant and chemical free, they are perfect for camping and barbeques - just light the end like a wick or pull strands free, crumple in an airy ball and light it up!
Made from hemp and certified organic cotton that’s been infused with pure beeswax, certified organic jojoba oil, and tree resin. Produced with leftover wraps from Abeego's food wrap production.
Includes enough to light 10-12 fires.
Each Strip measures approximately 25cm long.

Reuse is often confused with recycling, but they are really quite different. Reuse in the broadest sense means any activity that lengthens the life of an item. Recycling, on the other hand, is the reprocessing of an item into a new raw material for use in a new product. Reuse is so important because at the same time that it confronts the challenges of waste reduction, it also sustains a comfortable quality of life and supports a productive economy. It helps support a sustainable economy in the following ways:
* Keeps goods and materials out of the waste stream
* Preserves the 'embodied energy' that was originally used to manufacture an item
* Reduces the strain on valuable resources, such as fuel, forests and water suppliers.
* Creates less air and water pollution then making a new item or recycling.
* Results in less hazardous waste.
* Saves money in purchases and disposal costs.
Abeego was founded in 2008 by Toni Desrosiers and was born from the question “how did we store food before plastic wrap?” Toni used her background in holistic nutrition to research the history of food preservation and look for a solution in nature. She found it in Beeswax, a material that’s been used around the world for hundreds of years.
Toni and her husband Colin manufacture the Abeego range in their own factory in British Columbia, Canada.
