This round, chunky style basket has been skilfully hand woven from natural seagrass and upcycled sari material. Pedlars buy used saris from households and sell them on to companies who usually recycle them. Instead of the saris being recycled, ReSpiin reuse them, weaving the fabric together with seagrass to make a beautiful basket that is unique and one of a kind. Finished with a little ReSpiin label sewn onto the rim.
Hand made responsibly in Bangladesh from natural seagrass; a renewable, sustainable and biodegradable material. Comes with swing tag detailing the upcycled nature of the product.

Please note that due to the upcycled nature of this basket there will be slight variations in the colour and print of the sari fabric used to that shown in the pictures. Your basket will be woven with a red, pink or purple coloured sari but this could vary from hot pink to deep purple to fiery red and everything in between!
Seagrass grows very quickly in shallow saltwater along coastlines and rivers. Once mature, the grass is cut by hand and dried in the sun, then hand twisted and woven. Dried seagrass is durable and moisture resistant.
The producer of the baskets in Bangladesh is committed to providing regular employment in a working environment that is safe and hygienic and they pay a living wage to all employees.
Not only is seagrass totally natural and sustainable, it is also a renewable and biodegradable material.

We offer the following delivery options. In all cases you will be provided with a tracking number. Orders received by 10am weekdays will be sent out the same day.

This is our standard delivery option. Usually delivered within two to three working days.
2: ROYAL MAIL TRACKED 24 - £5.00 (Only £1.50 for orders over £50)
A faster service, usually delivered the next working day.
3: DHL EXPRESS - £8.50
Delivery by DHL courier using their express service which usually delivers next day (Monday-Friday only). Order by 11am weekdays for same day dispatch.
We are happy to accept orders from around the world, but only offer delivery within mainland UK (excluding Jersey & Guernsey due to required customs documentation).
