This stoneware wax melt burner has a compact and minimalist design and warms up pretty quickly with a standard tea light. Its top dish is nicely shaped for containing a wax melt or essential oil, and is removable so can be easily cleaned or popped in the dishwasher between fragrances.

The stoneware is handmade near Bhaktapur, Nepal by a family business run by two brothers, Santa and Laxmi. The production is organised by a World Fair Trade Organisation certified collective in Kathmandu. The artisans benefit from numerous initiatives, including allowances for family medical care and children's education, and a savings scheme. The organisation is active in reducing its environmental impact and has moved to electric firing for ceramics and away from kerosene-based firing.

This piece has been skilfully produced on the potter's wheel from a mix of local Nepalese clay. Any hand-carved details are added before each piece is dried in the sun, glazed and fired at high temperatures in large kilns. To maximise efficiency not an inch of space is wasted in the kilns, which run for days at a time to maintain the heat. The high firing temperature makes this stoneware dishwasher and microwave safe, and surprisingly chip resistant.

Available in three colour glazes sourced from North India. The midnight blue and light grey ceramic burners have a gloss finish and the pistachio green has a matt finish.

Approximately 8.5cm high (including dish) x 8cm diameter. Dish measures 6cm diameter x 2.5cm high. Comes with a kraft card swing tag.

Delivery by DHL courier using their express service which usually delivers next day (Monday-Friday only). Order by 11am weekdays for same day dispatch.

We are happy to accept orders from around the world, but only offer delivery within mainland UK (excluding Jersey & Guernsey due to required customs documentation).
