The hexagonal serving trays are made from hand selected cedar wood planks reclaimed from 70 year old Chinese houses.
Before western building materials were introduced in China in the mid-century, people used the local cedar wood for building homes and other wooden structures. This wood has been salvaged and is used most often by the local people for small projects.
The hand selected cedar wood used to make these trays is free from chemicals and is naturally resistant to staining, bugs and mold.
