This beautifully designed bamboo toothbrush offers a stylish and eco friendly alternative to the many plastic toothbrushes available on the market. The brush has a smooth and tactile handle and white, medium curved bristles made from a blend of 62% castor bean oil (a renewable vegetable oil) and 38% nylon.
The handle is dipped in an eco-friendly water-based pink paint, adding a splash of colour as well as a useful way of differentiating brushes within the family bathroom!
Designed in Britain and produced in China from organic bamboo grown in sustainable forests. Comes wrapped in tissue paper and packaged in a fully recyclable card sleeve.
After use, rinse and leave in dry place. Do not leave standing in water.
Most dental professionals recommend changing your toothbrush every 3 months (although the Truthbrush may last longer). When the toothbrush has come to the end of its life, it is recommended to remove the bristles with a pair of pliers before disposal due to the different times they take to biodegrade. Alternatively, instead of composting the bamboo handle, it could be given a second life and be used as a seed marker or paint stirrer!
Vegan friendly, eco friendly, biodegradable and phthalate free.
Approximately 19cm long.
Please note - we are not able to accept the return of dental hygiene products.
Truthbrush is a British company located in Ashburton, at the heart of South Devon, close to Dartmoor National Park. Their toothbrushes are made in China, the natural habitat of bamboo.
Every year over a billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown away worldwide, ending up in landfill, in the sea or washed up on a beach. Using a bamboo toothbrush with a biodegradable handle is a small change but over time can make a big difference.
Bamboo is beautiful to look at, warm to touch and fully biodegradable. The natural antibacterial and antifungal properties of bamboo mean the Truthbrush is hygienic too.
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, and is an endlessly renewable resource. It grows naturally without using any pesticides or fertilisers, takes in greenhouse gasses and produces 35% more oxygen than the equivalent trees.
Truthbrush toothbrushes are made from Moso bamboo, a type of bamboo which is inedible to pandas. Moso bamboo grows up to a metre a day in China as it has the perfect conditions to thrive. The bamboo used to make the toothbrushes comes from sustainable forests in China.
Although shipping to Europe has a carbon footprint, the amount is tiny for each brush. For this reason Truthbrush has chosen to carbon offset shipping from China to the UK.
