Suitable from birth.
As well as being super safe and environmentally friendly, this cute giraffe toy is a comfort blanket, teether and best friend, all in one! It is hand made in Sri Lanka from organic cotton muslin and soft organic rubber that is certified plastic free, BPA free and phthalate free so safe for relieving baby's sore, tender gums during teething. Perfect for popping in the cot or pram for those fractured moments of tiredness just before sleep.

The cotton muslin carries the Organic 100 certification by the Organic Content Standard (OCS), verifying that the fabric has met organic standards throughout its journey – from raw material to finished product.

The latex used for the teether part of the toy is accredited by the GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) and is ethically sourced directly through a small, family run plantation that uses traditional methods to extract it from the Havea trees - a process called tapping. It’s a slow process and must be done by a skilled hand in an environmentally friendly way so the trees remain in good health. The trees release the latex which slowly drips into a holding cup. This process takes around 6 hours. In addition to taking good care of the trees - no chemicals or preservatives are added to the latex to ensure that the material remains as pure as possible.

The purchase of rubber toys in place of plastic is a great eco friendly choice. Not only is rubber natural and non-toxic, it is also kinder on the planet as it can take around 50 years to break down as opposed to thousands with plastic, if ever at all! Rubber can also be recycled and made into something else of use such as matting and sports turf etc.

Suitable from birth. Carries CE approval mark for health, safety and environmental protection. Comes with recycled card swing tag printed with soy based inks.

Muslin measures approximately 23cm x 23 cm. Teether measures approximately 7cm x 5.5cm
Sri Lankan brand Tikiri has been manufacturing and exporting a wide collection of baby toys since 1991, and have more recently become the first and only company globally to produce organic rubber baby toys.

Fortunately, Tikiri (which means ‘teeny tiny’ in their native language of Sinhala) is lucky enough to be based in beautiful Sri Lanka, where they have been growing rubber trees since the 1800s. In 1876 about 2000 seedlings were sent to Ceylon (modern day Sri Lanka) which started off their rubber plantations. All Tikiri's rubber is sourced directly from a local, family run organic plantation so cuts down transportation costs and CO2 emissions of their main raw material as well as supporting small businesses in their own country.

Tikiri is proud to be certified by the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX). SEDEX is a non-profit organisation for businesses engaged in continuous improvement of the ethical and responsible practices of their supply chains.

They also receive regular audits from OMEGA Compliance Limited, a specialist auditing and inspection company offering a full spectrum of social and ethical compliance, supply chain security and quality inspection services.
Suitable for use as a teether and a comforter.
