Wooly Organic involve young designers - students and graduates from the Art Academy of Latvia - in the design process of their toys.

The designs are inspired by the Steiner (Waldorf) education system, created by Rudolf Steiner (1861 – 1925), an Austrian born innovative academic whose ideas founded the basis of Anthroposophy. Anthroposophy is a modern spiritual path that cherishes and respects the freedom of each individual, irrespective of academic ability, class, ethnicity or religion and takes into account the needs of the child as a whole – academic, physical, emotional and spiritual.

Wooly Organic toys therefore have minimal facial features in order to encourage the imagination of a young child and to cultivate “inner picturing” abilities. If a toy has just two eyes, the child is able to imagine the toy expressing its own emotions, encouraging a complete imaginative life.
