A SLICE OF GREEN

The idea for A Slice of Green came in 2015 after founder Charity Nichols had been running her ethical gifts business for nearly 10 years. Whilst looking for new products to stock, she became increasingly aware that many brands were claiming its products were sustainable, but found that most were actually mass produced and included a large amount of plastic. The very opposite of sustainable!

The story behind A Slice of Green

REAL SUSTAINABILITY

So Charity set about creating a brand that represented all elements of sustainability - the behaviour change it encouraged, the materials used, the simple timeless designs, and the production methods that would support positive employment and skill development. First in the range was a stylish collection of stainless steel lunchboxes and containers, then later reusable produce bags and sustainable cleaning brushes.

TEAM EFFORT

All products are designed inhouse at the ASOG office and warehouse based in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, and then brought to life by its amazing producers. Even the most hairy member of the team, Lola the Portuguese Pointer, gets involved. She's a great time keeper and never fails to be early to meetings to get first pick of the comfy chairs! Her favourite thing ever is to run around in this beautiful field every day - oh and snooze!

Why I Love A Slice of Green

When I had been running Green Tulip for 10 years, I was looking for more sustainable products to stock. I became increasingly aware of brands claiming they were sustainable, but with a little digging, I found out they were actually mostly mass producing products that included a large amount of plastic. Which in my eyes, is the opposite of sustainable!

I hated the idea of being fooled into believing I was buying something that was not actually sustainable.

So, I designed A Slice of Green - a stylish range of reusable products that can help people work towards a more sustainable lifestyle. All of the products are functional and simple to use so are easy to adopt into everyday life.
