This pair of mustard yellow chunky salad servers have shaped handles for easy grip and gently curved ends so are great for serving pasta and vegetables too. Each server is cut from a single piece of organically grown bamboo, then hand shaped and finished with a coloured lacquer on the outside.

Responsibly produced in China where there are safe working conditions and fair labour practices. Made from organically grown Moso bamboo which is then hand shaped and finished with food safe certified organic oil produced from vegetable oils and waxes.  Moso is an extremely large variety of bamboo not eaten by pandas because of its size.  Bamboo is more durable than wood, is heat and stain resistant, and is ideal for non-stick cookware.

Hand wash in warm soapy water. Avoid soaking.

Approximately 28cm long.

SUSTAINABLE

Miracle plant bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, and is an endlessly renewable resource - growing new shoots from its root system after being harvested. It thrives naturally without using any pesticides or fertilisers, takes in greenhouse gasses and produces 35% more oxygen than the equivalent trees. It is lightweight, more durable than wood, heat and stain resistant and does not impart or absorb flavours.

RESPONSIBLY SOURCED

Responsibly made in China where there are safe working conditions and fair labour practices. Producer Bambu is also B Corp certified which means the company’s business model and entire operations are evaluated to see how they impact their workers, community and environment. In short, B Corporation is to business what Fairtrade certification is to food.
Bambu was established in 2003 with a goal to reducing our use and reliance on plastic by providing people with beautiful, non-toxic, sustainable products made from nature.

Founders Jeff & Rachel were born in Portland, Oregon – a place that prides itself on local, homegrown and eco-friendly values, and when they relocated to China for work, (a place often criticised for its manufacturing processes), they took these values with them. They wanted to see if they could find a way of doing things differently – creating interest and excitement in sustainable materials, whilst adhering to ethical business practices.

Today bambu continue to focus on the same key values. They source materials locally, work with people who work with their hands, and produce safe and durable products that will last for years. The primary material they work with is bamboo – well known these days as an endlessly renewable resource that grows very fast without the need for pesticides or fertilisers – and they also work with other sustainable materials such as cork and organic cotton.

For bambu sustainability goes beyond the balance between what they take from the earth and what they return to it. It is central to how they conduct themselves as a business. They are committed to 3rd party certification and testing, promote fair labour practices and safe working conditions and ‘green’ their supply chain. The result – a number of accolades by leading associations and trade groups.

Bambu is also B Corp certified which means the company’s business model and entire operations are evaluated to see how they impact their workers, community and environment. In short, B Corporation is to business what Fairtrade certification is to food.
