A Rocket Garden is basically an instant living, growing vegetable or herb garden. Just choose the garden you would like to give and then we send (either to you or the recipient) a lovely voucher all about the garden they are about to receive.
The lucky recipient fills out a freepost postcard and returns it to Rocket Gardens (or alternatively redeems their voucher on line). They are then sent a box brimming full of baby organic vegetable and herb plants packed in golden straw so all they have to do is pop the baby plants into their new home and - voila - an Instant Organic Kitchen Garden which will provide them with fresh food from the garden for months to come!
This Children's Garden is so simple that no gardening experience is required. It is a brilliant way of encouraging children to grow (and eat!) their own vegetables at home. The plants are all easy to grow in the garden, pots, containers or grow bags. Just wait until you see their faces when they pick their first courgettes and dig up potatoes.

ORGANIC - All the seeds used are sourced from Soil Association approved organic seed suppliers. The compost in which the vegetable seedlings are grown is approved for use in organic systems by the Soil Association. The plants are then grown naturally under a fully organic regime, without the use of pesticides, herbicides, chemical sprays and fertilisers.
BRITISH - Rocket Gardens are grown in, and supplied from, West Cornwall.
SUSTAINABLE - Growing - Rocket Gardens seedlings are grown under large traditional unheated glass greenhouses with plenty of ventilation and watering facilities in order to produce healthy and hardy growing plants. Once the plants are established they are taken outside to a hardening off area before being sent to their final destination. Unlike some nurseries they do not believe in using artificial heat to raise their plants. This avoids the burning of fossil fuels and provides for a hardier growing seedling. Finally even the water they use on the plants is taken from their river just 50 metres below the greenhouses.
SUSTAINABLE - Packaging- In most instances each plant is grown in its own individual biodegradable pot which encourages a dense and active root system, minimises transplant shock, improves establishment speeds and produces excellent continued plant development. After its useful life the pot can be put onto the compost heap and transformed into humus to be put back into the soil. All other packaging has been chosen to be as ecologically friendly as possible. Recycled cardboard is used wherever practicable and this in turn can be used again or put onto the compost heap to be broken down. Where non cardboard packaging is required they try to source recycled products where possible.
