ORGANIC - Organics for Kids currently source their certified organic cotton from two organic cotton suppliers, with whom they work very closely. When it is available, certified Fairtrade cotton is used, and when it is not available the company are nevertheless confident that the cotton is fairly traded (meaning that farmers are paid a reasonable and normally premium price for their cotton, and are not exploited in the process). All of the cotton from both suppliers is certified organic by one or more of the following:
Soil Association - for more information please see www.soilassociation.org/
Ethical Trading Initiative - Soil Association certification also ensures that the supply chain meets the Base Code criteria of the Ethical Trading Initiative. See www.ethicaltrade.org for more information.
Control Union (formerly SKAL) - CU is an internationally recognised (Dutch) body, which ensures that the cotton is grown organically, and that the processing (spinning, weaving, washing, dyeing, etc) is undertaken in an environmentally responsible way.
GOTS - All garments also adhere to the GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARDS.
The dyes used on all fabrics are not organic themselves, but meet the Oeko-tex 100 standard, which protects against harmful substances. They are also covered by the above organic inspection processes.

BRITISH - The entire range of Organics for Kids clothes is manufactured by a small, family run business in Nottingham. Also the designers who work on the textile prints, the photographers, designers and printers who work on the catalogue are based in the UK.
