Our chunky recycled glasses are handmade in a family run workshop in Mexico - the country that also inspires the wonderful colours they come in. Each glass is shaped by hand and eye using techniques that date back a thousand years - and the fact that each one is a slightly different size and shape is part of their enduring charm.
These tumblers make lovely water glasses alongside our wine glasses, but are also great for everyday (and chunky enough that the kids won't break them!).

We send the glasses wrapped in the Mexican newspaper they come in - a fun way of getting across the fact that they are made in Mexico!
Handmade glass can never be 'dishwasher proof' however it is usually pretty resistant to being put through a dishwasher. Dishwashers also tend, eventually, to dull the glass.

RECYCLED - This glassware is made from pepsi bottles at the end of their recycling life and other discarded glass. The glass is melted down and then blown; the colour is added during this process. It is a myth that recycling glass uses more energy than it saves. Recycling two glass bottles saves the equivalent energy of boiling 5 cups of water - which seems a small saving until you take into account that 2.4 tonnes of glass end up in landfill per year.
