Calafant toys are solely designed to satisfy children in their need for creative play. The models have three stages of play - building, decorating & playing - perfect for keeping children busy for hours!

Each model is made from sturdy, yet light and flexible recycled cardboard specially produced to ensure it can be easily decorated but not easily damaged! The models come with illustrated instructions and thanks to a clever fold-and-slot system can be built easily without glue.  Once the child has outgrown or outplayed it, the model can be recycled instead of being thrown away and sent to landfill.

These models are ideal for smaller kids or as a short craft project. They can be easily assembled and coloured using the 6 felt pens included in the pack. Great fun for birthday parties (to make during the party and take home with them) or in party bags. Also great for travelling - children can decorate their toy with the markers and play with it for the remainder of the trip. Perfect for little clowns!

Packaged in a cello bag - pictured.  6 non-toxic, washable colouring pens included. No glue or scissors needed. Suitable for ages 3+.

Each toy measures about 25 x 10 x 15cm (depending on the shape).

The Calafant story:
Calafant cardboard toys were designed by Boris Schimanski, a well-known cartoon artist in Germany, whose motivation was keeping his kids occupied with something that would hold their attention and imagination long enough for him to finish his current work project in peace and quiet (mmm a familiar though!) He took some plain cardboard, drew a castle and punched out the individual pieces.  With this building and some decorating materials, he was able to coax his children to spend more time in their playroom.  Once his work was finished he also noticed that the kids were still busy with his cardboard creation. After they built their castle by putting the pieces together, they decorated it with all sorts of things from the house and yard and played with it, along with their little figurines, for hours and hours. The joy of playing with their self-made toy didn’t diminish and more and more friends joined in. So Calafant was born!
