Our bambu lacquered bowls are made from hand coiled strips of bamboo, hand shaped and then finished with a natural food safe lacquer derived from the cashew nut tree.
Not only do the bowls look beautiful they are also very practical to use in the kitchen. The natural lacquer creates a durable waterproof finish and means the bowls are suitable for both hot and cold foods. Although not dishwasher safe, they wash easily in warm soapy water.
The bambu small bowl is great for everyday use - cereal, noodles, curry, soup - anything you would use a bowl for actually! They look great stacked up too so you can let each member of the family choose their favourite and make a little display of them (or alternatively just choose all your own favourites and stack those instead!).
Improvements for 2011: Bambu have updated the shape of the small bowl this year, reducing the height which gives it a more modern feel. Also the bowls now have a scratch resistant coating on the outside.
