Our bambu lacquered bowls are made from hand coiled strips of bamboo, hand shaped and then finished with a natural food safe lacquer derived from the cashew nut tree.
Not only do the bowls look beautiful they are also very practical to use in the kitchen. The natural lacquer creates a durable waterproof finish and means the bowls are suitable for both hot and cold foods. Although not dishwasher safe, they wash easily in warm soapy water.
We really love this new shape in the bambu lacquerware range - half way between the salad bowl and low bowl it makes a useful dish for any kitchen. It is a great size for a salad or pasta dish and makes a stylish wedding present. Also perfect as a fruit bowl or as the centrepiece of a table.
Improvements for 2011: The bowls now have a scratch resistant coating on the outside.
